Tatra Mountains Winter Trekking

It is the most popular Polish national park and the only high-mountain area in Poland. Tatra National Park is home to a numerous endangered species of flora and fauna with brown bears and goats among them. With almost 300 km of marked tourist trails you will be amazed with the breath-taking views on mountains peaks and valleys. Here you will also understand the true meaning of the traditional Polish hospitality and enjoy the most delicious highlanders cuisine!

Tatra Mountains are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains and a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. With the highest point in Poland: Rysy, at 2499 meters, they have an Alpine character. Zakopane, a town at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, is a centre of highlanders culture called “the winter capital of Poland” and the most popular Polish destination for mountaineering and skiing.

Day 1 – Saturday

Transfer to Zakopane and a welcoming meal in a local restaurant. Later we start our first Tatra walk to the most picturesque valley – Kościeliska Valley (in Polish: Dolina Kościeliska). It is one of the most beautiful and most frequently visited valleys in the Tatra Mountains. We head towards the Ornak Shelter.

In the evening we are having a traditional highlander’s dinner and mulled wine next to a fire outside and a sleigh ride (optional and extra paid).

Accommodation in a traditional mountain hut in Zakopane.

Day 2 – Sunday

After breakfast we visit the Museum of the Zakopane Style at Koliba Villa with original pieces of furniture, household utensils and craftsmen’s articles.

Later we go for a second mountain trekking to The White Valley. The environmental expert explaining the natural specifics of the region guides the walk. There is a chance to take the most unique pictures of the mountains along the way.

On request we offer ski touring with the instructor (extra paid).

Return to Cracow or Warsaw.
