Arrival to Białowieża – last untouched wilderness of Europe

Straight from Warsaw we head to our first destination – Białowieża. After arrival and check in you have some time to rest and make yourselves comfortable in a beautiful local wooden guest house in the heart of the primeval forest. In the evening we have a traditional welcome dinner and we talk over the next day’s plan.

Primeval forest and visiting bisons

At the dawn: bison, we are coming! We start by a 3 hour long trek tracking the bison guided by a local environmental expert. After returning, breakfast and some rest, we continue to discover the strict reserve of Białowieża National Park for more trekking and stories about the forest and animals. In the evening we will have a delicious local dinner in the most prestigious restaurant in the region: Tsarska. It is located in an old building of the railway station built in 1903 for the Tsar Nicholas II. Its present character and the interior refer to tsarist times. This unique place attracts both gourmets of Polish-Russian cuisine as well as enthusiasts of the forest.

Welcome to Polish Amazon – Narew

After early breakfast we transfer to Biebrza National Park. Over the way we stop to see a few adorable villages: Trześcianka, Puchły and Soca, part of the Land of Open Shutters with rich, wood carving decoration windows and colorfully painted shutters.

Later we head to Kurowo village to visit Narew National Park. Narew is one of the last rivers with a natural character and it’s often called the Polish Amazon for its multiple meanders. It runs through a wide valley with sandy banks overgrown with osier. Here we will also be able to see the magical sunset over Narew river.

One of the most enjoyable attractions here is a walking trail, nature footbridge located between the villages of Waniewo and Śliwno. It allows you to reach the heart of the park without having to use a canoe or kayak. It crosses numerous riverbeds with floating platforms fixed on the ropes. Observation tower stands in the middle of the route, where there used to be the former castle, allowing to admire the panorama of the valley.

In the evening we have some time to walk or relax. Afterwards, we will have a traditional Polish dinner in the local restaurant.

Biebrza National Park – elks and wetlands

Today you will discover the biggest national park in Poland – Biebrza National Park. During a 6 hours guided walking tour along the heavily meandering River Biebrza we will see the largest peat-bog complex in Poland, called Biebrza Marshes. They create a unique mosaic of wetland habitats, which preserve multiple rare plant, bird and animal species. Biebrza Swamps are considered to be one of the most important Central Europe’s bird refuge for water-mud oriented birds. Also here you can find Poland’s largest elk refuge, and mammals like wolves, otters and beavers.

In the evening we will have a delicious local dinner in the local restaurant.

Towards Wigry National Park

Today we move to Suwałki and nearby Folwark Hutta – a stunning family hotel located in renovated farm buildings with access to a private lake beach. On the way we will stop to visit Pentowo, the European Stork Village, and nearby charming city of Tykocin.

After arrival and check in we have time for relaxing, evening walk or swimming in the lake.

In the evening we will have a delicious local dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Wigry National Park – kayaking and walking routes

Today, after a delicious breakfast we go kayaking and walking along Wigry National Park with our environmental guide. The Park is famous for its numerous lakes and is named after the largest of them – lake Wigry.

In the evening we will have a delicious dinner in the local restaurant.

Time for relax and nature contemplation

Today you will have time to relax and stay at the farm and enjoy the beach and beautiful weather. If you prefer to stay active, you can easily go on a walking trip along the educational trail in Suwałki region. The whole area is covered with woods and meadows, a variety of postglacial forms of land relief, lakes and picturesque rivers flowing through deep valleys.

We will end our trip having a delicious dinner in the local restaurant and admiring the sunset over the lake.

Goodbye and see you next time!

After breakfast and a short break for the last walk (depending on the time of your flight), our driver will take you to the airport in Warsaw. Even if your stay is over, remember that there is so much more to discover in Poland!

North – East of Poland, Podlasie region

Podlasie is a part of north-eastern Poland and one of the most ecological parts of Poland where numerous nature reserves are still well preserved: large forest complexes, four national parks, three landscape parks, clean rivers and lakes among others. Historically it has also been a cultural and national mosaic: Poles, Belarusians, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Russians, Tatars and Jews have lived here side by side for centuries.
