Friday

Is it snowy and cold? Welcome to wintry Poland! Straight from Warsaw (pick up at the airport or from your hotel), we head to our destination – Bialowieza. First you check in in a beautiful wooden guest house in the heart of the primeval forest where you may have some rest after the transfer.

After lunch we begin to discover the Bialowieza village, starting from the visit to the Nature Museum.

In the evening you will have a traditional welcome dinner in the local restaurant and may end up the evening with a glass of mulled wine at the fireplace.

Saturday

Meeting bison in the wild is easy at breakfast… – his breakfast! And that is at the dawn! That is why we start the day early enough to drive to the different parts of the forest where the herd may decide to start their day – guided by local environmental experts, we are in safe hands to spot them and take some nice pictures.

After breakfast at the guest house and some rest, you transfer with our guide to the Strict Reserve of Bialowiezza National Park – the oldest and the most protected part of the primeval forest, accessible only with licensed guides. Light trekking takes some 3 hours during which you will find out the history of Bialowieza and key information about forest fauna and flora.

In the afternoon – it is your free time to enjoy walks in the village and the surrounding silence. Regardless of its popularity among nature lovers from all around the world, Bialowieza remains a small and quiet village, that may seem like the end of the world in winter…

For dinner, you will visit the most charming and prestigious restaurant in the region, Tsarska, located in the renovated old tsarist railway station – great cuisine and stunning historical interior.

Sunday

In the morning you will discover the European Bison Showcase Reserve – apart from   European bison – the biggest European mammal, you will see other rare animal species like elks, lynx, wild boars, roe deers living in a semi-natural environment. After the walk we check out and head back to Warsaw. On the way you will visit multicultural magic places of the region: the Land of Open Shutters, few colorful Orthodox churches, or the Narew river bank – depending on the weather conditions.

North – East of Poland, Podlasie region

Podlasie is a part of north-eastern Poland and one of the most ecological and thinly inhabited regions of Poland where numerous nature reserves are well preserved: large forest complexes, four national parks, three landscape parks, clean rivers and lakes among others. Historically, it has also been a cultural and national mosaic: Poles, Belarusians, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Russians, Tatars and Jews have lived here side by side for centuries.

Joining & departure

Pick up from any hotel in Warsaw included. We book pre and post travel accommodation upon request on an individual basis.
